It's finally here!! Six years (almost) in the waiting. He was ready for this day and so was I! He was ready to hear about Kindergarten, and I was so excited to see him in a new environment. I had and have no doubt he will enjoy all that is to come this school year!
I wanted to get a close up picture of those handsome blue eyes. He matched the door too... ironically!
Then a quick pic of him wearing it, but he wanted the picture to show the front if his backpack...Whatever works to get him to let me take more pics I say!!
And here we are... He was excited I was nervous, proud, a little sad... But mostly just proud of the wonderful little man I think he is. From here we went out to the school yard and waited for the bell to ring. Once it did, he instinctively knew it was time to find his teacher. A hug and hi-five and he was gone. I walked away crying, glad he didn't see me. Again, just proud, and a little sad. I am excited to watch him grow up, and learn all that he needs to learn to be great in life, but I can't help but tear up a bit thinking about how just yesterday he was 7 lbs 6 oz and laying in my arms....
After school I met him as he walked around the corner out of his classroom in his little Kindergarten class line, with his little backpack on, and one great big smile when he saw me. A big tight hug, and "I had a good day" are the first two things I got from him. As we were walking out he said goodbye to his new best friend Adien. Glad it doesn't take him long to make friends. On the way home he told me about his teacher Mrs. Bloch (pronounced Block) and how nice she was. What a cute Kindergarten teacher name I say!
